Metal the popularity of using this material for the roof of greenhouse photos confirm this is very high.
Greenhouse roof pitch.
When choosing a roofing it is necessary to take into account the slope of the slopes.
A greenhouse roof needs to have enough slope to prevent leaks and dripping condensation.
A lean to greenhouse extending 6 from your house needs a minimum 8 of height with an additional 4 for each additional foot the greenhouse extends from the building wall.
The standard pitch for a greenhouse roof is 6 by 12.
If you sketch that out on paper you ll see that a roof angle of 60 degrees requires a very tall north wall or an altered plan for the greenhouse.
In the write up it states the future greenhouse will have a simple shed style roof slanting to the south but with a much lower angle to allow for a knee wall which will push the ventilation wall further up.
According to the conventional rule of thumb this would require roof glazing to be about 60 degrees off the horizon 40 20 60.
If you design your internal structure according to local codes however you will not have any difficulties.
I have chosen a 5 12 pitch for my greenhouse but ceres greenhouse states even a 3 12 is fine if you have a front wall with windows.
This will shed snow under most conditions but with twin wall coverings it is not always the case.
We recommend a 4 12 roof pitch as a minimum.
